We offer a selection of beams in locally sourced green oak to meet your specifications.
Oak wood is a hardwood that has a visible wavy grain giving it a distinctive look. It resists water absorption, making it an ideal choice for both interior and exterior uses, eliminating the need for the application of waterproofing substances. It is a heavy, strong and durable timber of natural beauty and is the most widely used hardwood.
It is naturally less prone to shrinking or warping when compared to other woods. Drying further enhances this, thus reducing the chance of cracking.
All oak is cut to order to suit your requirements and supplied fresh sawn i.e. green oak.
Please note: Green oak being a natural product may split, twist or bow.
We currently offer cladding in U.K. grown oak, larch, douglas fir and western red cedar species, to suit the finish of your choice.
Waney edge cladding results in an attractive, very distinct, rustic look, achieved when the tree is sliced lengthwise leaving a layer of bark either on one, or either side.
Board on board also referred to as Hit or Miss Cladding is an incredibly cost effective and versatile cladding option, which can be fixed horizontally, vertically or even diagonally.
Vertical
All fence panels are made from locally sourced 10mm thick larch boards and are heavy duty framed panels, made to last! A massive step up from your average fence panels!
Larch is the most durable and longest lasting in softwoods and the best to use for ground contact as it doesn’t rot when in contact with the ground. Left naturally, treated or painted these attractive garden fence panels offer shelter and privacy to your garden or outdoor space. Our fence panels are finished with a strong and robust frame and all fixings used in the production of our fence panels are made of stainless steel. Due to the high levels of taninin in the timber, it tends to corode steel fixings thus staining the wood.

Hand crafted by Coed y Cardi, based in Llandysul, Ceredigion, from locally sourced larch or douglas fir and lined with breathable membrane. Our garden sheds can be supplied in the style and dimensions to suit your requirements. Extremely heavy duty – not your average wooden garden shed!
All garden sheds are typically supplied for self-assembly and full instructions are given. We also offer the option of assembling the shed for you.

Beams, porches, A Frames, ornamental gate posts made from green oak are supplied using traditional framing joints, which are held in place with the use of wooden pegs / dowels, once in situ. Douglas fir and larch timber is also available.
